Chateauneuf de Grasse, Holiday Villa on The French Riviera - Exterior details.
Villa Lou Miradou:
- A prestigious private holiday villa in the South of France with its own private heated swimming pool
- Beautiful and well maintained gardens where you can relax, stroll, sit and take in the aromas and sounds of this part of France
- The garden consists of several distinct areas: grassed terraces near the villa and pool, further away the grass is meadow like and dotted with wild flowers. Olive trees, cypresses and a small orchard provide a restful setting, all in about 1 acre
A spacious pool house is located beneath the covered terrace. Entry from the pool reveals a fully equipped summer kitchen, with American fridge and icemaker, gas and electric hobs, a fan oven and dishwasher. It is separated from the pool by a bar decorated with provencale tiling. There is also a long dining table which can be used inside and out. A changing room with shower, basin and WC and a space for pool chair cushions completes the layout. A deeply extending awning gives protection from the sun and creates a space ideal not only for summer living but also for daytime winter use when the sun streams inside.
The pool, lined with light coloured tiles is shaped in the 'Roman' style, which means: rectangular with a curved end section with tiled steps into the pool, ideal for idling by the water. Dimensions are 12m (10.5m net) overall by 5m by 2m depth at the deep end. The pool uses the salt process and is controlled by a fully automatic Megamatic system to maintain the chemical balance and water quality. A Polaris cleaner makes light work of keeping the interior clean and bright. The pool is orientated east to west and enjoys sun throughout the day until a quarter past eight in high summer much to the envy of those in the valley!. It is surrounded by terra-cotta tiling and bordered by a safety fence and locking gates at each end. At both ends outside this fence there are grassy lawns.

The pool is constructed with a security surround and two entrance gates. Access to the pool and pool house can only be made via these gates. An < Aquasensor> and alarm has been fitted to conform with newly introduced regulations to help reduce accidents. Party leaders are responsible for ensuring observance of pool guidelines which must be read before using the pool area .They must take whatever measures are necessary to maintain safety. The party leader should ensure that all pool users are made aware of the pool guidelines and observe them.

The Garden The garden layout and entrance is strongly influenced by the very impressive stone walls constructed with the greatest care from the many large limestones (some weighing over a tonne) excavated on the site. Terracing nearest the house is grassed and maintained as lawn.
Further away the grass is meadowlike and dotted with wild flowers to achieve a prairie style appearance. Traditional provencale plants such as lavender and rosemary are used extensively. There are two huge cypresses to greet you at the entrance and several smaller ones. Olive trees predominate elsewhere on the land of about one acre. There is also a small orchard. Everywhere, there are areas of calm where you can sit and read, laze and take in the splendid views extending across olive tree lined slopes to the coast beyond.
